James Wilson-Smith began performing at an early age taking lead roles in many youth musicals in and around chesterfield. After leaving school James gained a place at Expressions Academy of performing arts, where he graduated in 2013 with a Btec diploma in performing arts. After leaving college, James started his professional career with Warner leisure Hotels starting at Cricket St Thomas Hotel in Somerset in 2013 performing in Various production shows. After a year in Somerset, he transferred to Holme Lacy House Hotel in Hereford where he stayed until January 2016, during his time in Hereford, James started developing his cabaret at it's earliest stages and held the role of Vocal Captain at the hotel.
After leaving Holme Lacy, other jobs followed, James moved to the east coast to work at Broadland Sands Holiday Park as Assistant Entertainment Manager which didn't last long as James rejoined Warners a few months later as entertainment team leader at Thoresby Hall in Nottingham. He then moved to Llandudno and worked at the Grand Hotel where he would perform his Cabaret Once a week. James then decided to work oversees and took a job as Entertainment Team Leader for the TUI GROUP working with the GOLD concept, during his time there James had to oversee the running of entertainment in three Hotels.
After a few months James felt the Warners Bug again and rejoined Holme Lacy House Hotel where he stayed for over a year.
James has now moved to the South Coast with the goal of taking his show "James Wilson-Smith's Sounds of Swing" to the people.
This is not just any normal swing cabaret, James blends classic Swing music with Comedy to give you a night you will never forget.
